Optical and Technical Special Effects Fibers
Meadowbrook's
newest Angelina®
products include:
These
Angelina®
Fibers
are considered optical and technical special effects
fibers.
Angelina®
Aluminum Metal Fibers are staple fibers composed
of 100% aluminum metal or pigmented aluminum metal.
Angelina®
Aluminum fibers have a luminous, glowing satin-like appearance
is less sparkling than Angelina® polyester fibers. Angelina®
Aluminum metal fibers lie flat in yarns and fabrics, with
a high-tech metal look that is suitable for both women's
and men's wear, as well as for luminous accents in upholstery,
curtains, automotive, nonwovens, etc. "Luminous, radiant,
glowing, energy embedded within its color" - is the look
of the future.
Performance
features:
- Angelina®
Aluminum Metal fiber (1145 alloy) was originally designed
for applications requiring high temperature and solvent
resistance. These fibers as fine as 15 denier, have a
distortion temperature of 400F/ 204C.
- Aluminum
fibers are thermal regulating as they hold body heat from
within and reflect it directly back to the body, still
allowing the fabric to "breathe".
- They
are conductive fibers with therapeutic qualities and antistatic
properties.
- Angelina®
Aluminum fibers are considered anti-stress fibers that
may help shield against electromagnetic waves that deplete
our natural serotonin and melatonin, the hormones that
help guide our sleeping pattern and protect against some
pathogenic effects.
- UV
radiation will not penetrate Angelina® fibers. Technical
uses could include protective shielding against electric
and electromagnetic interference among electronic devices
such as cell phones and computers on airplanes, in hospitals
and filtration.
- Colored,
reflective, flat surfaced Angelina® Aluminum Metal Fibers
can give a paper touch to fabrics, that can be pleated,
crushed, crinkled and given an aged lived-in look, adding
texture to luminous color. Metal fibers can also be combined
with soft merino or noble fibers.
- Angelina®
Aluminum fibers are suitable for dyeing and cross dyeing.

Angelina®
Carbon Black Fiber is a conductive fiber
and may help protect the body against damage by magnetic
fields ("anti-stress"). It has a soft hand and
attractive appearance. These carbon fibers are suitable
for dyeing applications.

"Heat
Bondable" Angelina® Fiber allows
radiantly colored fibers to be heat bonded to each other
creating a luminescent web of fibers, which further change
in form and color when the layers melt together. Penetrating
light is reflected and refracted and partially absorbed
producing an incredibly luminous effect.
